Did the trans fluid swap today, very minimal debris on the magnet. 140k+ miles on the bearings, unknown on synchros. Bearings are still quiet like new, synchros still kinda notchy... (Been that way since day one of swap). Really no change to them.

Used 4qt 75w-90, 3qt synchromax and 1qt lucas synthetic additive. (Have coolers installed)

My plan is the next clutch the synchros will get addressed with either a rebuild of them or a low mileage wrecking yard trans

G56 mix that continues to perform well... Just found this pic and opened up the thread... been looking for it and stumbled on it this morning. Trans continues to perform as described above, bearing swap happened at approx 260k miles, now at 446k so 180k on them, zero noise out of them at this point.

My Ram is coming due for its 50k service...

Oil & filter (every 10k)
Bypass filter swap (every 50k)
Fuel filter (s) swap interval varies by filter, main filter every 10k
Power steering flush (every 50k)
Transmission fluid swap (every 50k)
T-case fluid swap (every 50k)
Front & rear diff fluid swap (every 50k)
brake flush (every 50k)

Some say overkill, I say peace of mind and knowing where the truck stands is priceless.

That’s not overkill. That’s actual under kill for me on the oil and fuel filters.

Trans service done today, FWIW to anyone wanting to know... magnet was cleaner than last time...

Drain plug

Installed new PTO covers and pulled off the coolers since I dont think I need them. Filling up trans now from engine compartment with long hose into the fill plug of the plate. ~8 qts still.

You took the coolers off and are still using 8 qts? So that's 2 more than normal I think?
I need to do mine soon, just going with 7 qts or whatever I can get in with one side of the truck up on ramps.
What mix would you recommend for 7 qts Steve?
What do you use in your trfr case?

those 2 new covers add capacity as well and according to the guy who made them, using 2 I am still up at ~8 qts. I had 7 in hand, 3 qts of each plus the lucas and stopped there, the level was pretty close to the fill hole. Have had no differences in performance since the install

Transfer case gets the synchromax, 2 qts...
