some of you may know we just bought an 05 wrangler unlimited. so it came with a hard top and kerry wanted
to sell it so she could pay for her lift and rims / tires. put
the top on craigslist and got a call the next day on it.
gentleman that called's name was mitch. he sounded like
very soft spoken person. he is a md at scott and white hospital in temple. wasnt sure what kind of vehicle
he would show up in. so he calls this evening saying
he was close and i told him i would be outside waiting. got
sidetracked with my 5 year old so i didnt walk right out.
i hear this rumble pull up and then i walk out. well turns out
he drives a 96 12valve quad cab dually with dual 4 inch stacks. so we start bs'ing about dodges and diesels etc...
he never heard of this site before, and his truck is a true
virgin. you know you simply assume that everyone you see
with a cummins knows about this site.. LOL either way, he was a real good guy and loved his truck. had 290k on the clock. i snapped two shots of it in my driveway.

thanks for reading.

No wonder why he hasnt heard of this site with a truck that ugly! :lol4:
Different Strokes for different folks but no need in calling it ugly. Im sure it does what he wants. Atleast he doesnt have stacks stickin 4ft over the cab.
Haha it hard to believe an md drivin a 13 year old dodge truck, thats pretty cool. I've seen alot uglier trucks than that, Id drive it in a second I love those 2nd gen duallies.
yeah the pics doesnt do the truck justice.
the paint was faded but my big thing is
that its a 12 valve that has never been
touched. he loved it. may see him lurking
around here, im gonna give him the web
addy saturday when i drop the top off.
Did you tell/show him how to squeeze any free power out of it?

don't you know, it's OK to say negative things about people or trucks if they're not on this website, but the moment they join, you have to hold hands and sing kumbaya with them

some of those "ugly" trucks are sometimes sleepers and will surprise the hell outta ya..
Did you tell/show him how to squeeze any free power out of it?
no i sure didnt - im not even sure how to do it.. LOL
if he was any closer to Alvin, I'd turn it up a little for him

Which I think is BS. If somebody on here ask's what everyone thinks they should get the truth! If they didnt want to know dont ask. I dont think its right to call someone's truck ugly though. It may not be your style but it doesnt have to be ugly.
eh he's about to go to juno alaska through october,
thats why he was looking for a hard top.

im gonna ask him more questions when i see him on
saturday, see if he's interested in any modding.
if he was any closer to Alvin, I'd turn it up a little for him
you would happen to go by Forrest Nearing on other sites, would ya? :lol4:

i thought this funny story was gonna end up with you owning the 12valve.

heres my funny story. A female friend and I were cruising the backroads between my families 2 ranches in central texas back over christmas break in my 12 valve. It was 11pm or so. we hadn't seen a soul as usual. we were miles from pavement and a good 25 minutes from a town.

I round a corner on a dirt road and there sits a red 24 valve and about 6 4wheelers. they looked really nervous and uptight so i passed through them and was wondering wtf was going on. I got past them and realized they were probably doing the same thing i was and they all looked roughly my age, 21.

I turned around and went back. We exchanged some whats goin friendly gestures....then i was asked if i was drinking. Why ofcourse, i held up the beer from between my legs. They all started laughing and all their alcohol suddenly re-appeared. we left there 3 hours later and made 7 new friends all between the age of 19 and 23. we all exchanged phone numbers and had a 2 more backroad parties that week.

Not even two weeks later, that red 24valve owner traded me for my 12 valve. (some of you may question my intelligence, but trust me i came out ahead. i got about $2500 in aftermarket stuff when i traded...not to mention a solid dash, good paint, and clutch in better condition)

So, on a dirt road in central texas, i got a new truck, made 7 new life long drinkin buddies, and started a ritual of backroad parties. Thats my funny story.

yep there are tons of good guys driving
trucks that have no idea about cummins
forum.

keep spreading the word !!
...and i would love to own
a 12v - ive tried to buy one
a few times.

Word! But still its ugly and thats my opinion, just like someone already stated "different strokes for different folks". I want it to look as good as it runs.
you would happen to go by Forrest Nearing on other sites, would ya? :lol4:
I happen to go by that most everywhere :D

you know me, I tend to interject even when not asked :S:

"highly opinionated" were the exact words the counselor used

all in good fun, I just think the double standard is lame... at least with me you know what you're getting :hehe:
yeah, DD, you are about the straightest shootin guy on this site:thumbsup:

i actually like the truck though:shock::S::S::S::S::S::S::S:

That's my friend Ali's, dad's truck. Trust me, he's a dentist and it is his daily driver. You would never expect him to drive it, we have been saying that for years.
