I am about to dive into the realm of added fuel and would like to know if I'm headed in the proper and safe direction. I will be installing a fass 150 to do away with lift pump problems. As for the cp3, I plan to either do a bag-of-parts or an arson kit for now just to get a mild increase in fuel. Injectors and a bigger pump will be far later down the trail. What kind of gains will I notice with just the modified pump parts? I assume its ok to do the cp3 upgrade without doing injectors or nozzles? I just want to make sure I will be getting something out of this by modding the pump and that I won't be hurting anything.

I had the arson 3 kit before I did my pump and injectors and stuff. I had a s366 at the time and fass 150 and I could tell a big difference in throttle response and being able to run a little bigger tune and benefiting from it. You will notice a difference but its not anything like a built pump!

You honestly proly wontnotice anything as far as power cause your truck isnt asking for a whole lot of fuel with the mods u have.. On the other hand you may notice a difference in throttle response. If you had a wild tune and maybe some larger injectors and then added those mods u would more than likely notice it then.

With an Arson III kit you should also notice an increased performance with stock injectors in the mid-to-high end RPM's b/c of the higher rail pressures.

Well even with the 100hp nozzles i had i was holding a steady 24-25k rail pressure with the stock pump with no problems... computer is still gonna ask for that... so maybe if you were having a hard time holding that psi with a stock pump then i think it would be a large notice if u upgraded.. so i guess it depends on the situation...:confused013:

How? The stock pump with no mods can't even max out the stockers without losing RP....There's no way you were holding steady pressure with 100hp tips, and no pump mods @ WOT.... Unless the newer style cp3 is stronger than the early 2007.5 style cp3, like I have.

My stock pump with stock nozzles and decently strong tuning will make my truck fall flat on its face at anything over 3/4 throttle.

Well i had 100hp nozzles AND Stock Pump.. and a rail pressure guage in the mini max and with the Hot Damn Tune at WOT Heald steady 24-25k psi... so yes way.. it holds steady... Im not sure if there is a difference between the early to late 6.7L Pumps... But the early 6.7Ls have WAAAAAAY more tuning than the new ones... so maybe thats the difference also??

The tunning on a 2010+ is different than our trucks. I beleive the craziest tune for a 2010 is a 150hp when they released a 225hp for our trucks.

So different tuning maybe you can get away with 90 or 100hp sticks. But id still plan on a bigger CP3 in the near futur.

Well on hot damn with stock pump and injectors on mine I can barely hold 20k psi at 3/4 to wot.

I was hoping to get better throttle response and have more fuel on the top end. So from what y'all are saying it sounds like these mods will help me.

You must have gotten a %120 over pump from the factory. Unless you're saying you held that rail psi with two stock pumps.
I forgot that you were in my truck with me watching my RP guage...:buttkick:

Like i had said earlier in the thread... Maybe the early and later pumps flow differently and also the tuning for the 2010+ are nothing like the early 6.7Ls.. So maybe thats the difference!... I know what my truck ran.

Arson III will be a wonder-mod for your stock nozzles and H&S tuning.
