hey guys, I am new to the forum I finally broke down and don't know where to turn. I have 2007.5 2500 6.7 my truck has about 340,000 highway miles on it and haven't had many issues through it all, had tranny replaces about a 100,000 ago and a few other small things. Truck is completely stock mechanically. I added a aux fuel tank about 6 months ago that had a little junk in it that I was unaware of that burned up my lift pump that cost me about a grand so I have disconnected the aux tank after I got it replaced and it has been running fine, until today. I got about a 1/4 mile down the road and she died I had to pump it a few times, but got it going for another 1/4 time this happened about 3 more times till I had to get a buddy to tow me back to the casa. When I hit the pedal it wouldn't give me anything it would just die until I would pump the pedal for a minute it would get started then just die again. I dropped the fuel tank and tested the lift pump it does not clogged and is working fine, but I did notice a crack in the bottom housing of the lift pump which shouldn't be a big issue I don't believe. I have fuel in my fuel filter, so now im kinda stuck I don't know what else I can really get in to, also ive had reduced power because of my dpf which im planning to delete now, but I don't feel like that is causing the problem either. has anyone had any issues like this or have any advise I could sure use the help.

so your lift pump is working fine? how much fuel is in the tank? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but if your DPF is clogged you might be choking out the engine if very little exhaust is being scavenged from the cylinders causing it to die.

The dpf has been like that for years telling me it has reduced power and I've talked to a few people and they it won't hurt anything it just won't give you the power you want. I don't think it would take 2 years of reduced power to finally bring up a issue, but I could be wrong.

Without testing cp3 supply pressure and rail pressure you're just peeing in the wind. Test those to confirm or eliminate fuel supply issues and go from there.
List your codes here. I'm interested in seeing if you have an exhaust pressure code.
Oh, and you can tell the people that told you that it would be reduced power and won't hurt a thing that the reduced power mode is to minimize the soot build up (and engine damage) until you can limp your way to the dealership for repairs. The dpf isn't regenning properly (if at all) and allowing soot to build up in the exhaust. Allowing it to continue for "2 years" has most likely caused the dpf to plug and the engine is seeing excessive exhaust pressure and as said above choking itself out.
There's a diagnostic for a no start condition that says to open the dpf flange to relieve the pressure and see if it starts. If it does then the cause is a plugged dpf and it needs to be replaced so it does happen.
If you're lucky its only the dpf and the turbo hasn't been fouled.

I don't know why you're pumping the pedal before starting. There's no accellerator pump in the injection system so you're not pumping any fuel.
