I am having problems with my fuel shut off solenoid hold circuit. The solenoid will pull in when cranking like it should but it doesn't hold.
Also if the solenoid is plugged into the wiring harness and I turn the key to the on position it blows fuse #9 every time.
any suggestions? popping the hood to shut the truck off is very inconvenient. I would still like to keep the shut off solenoid but if no one can figure this out i guess i can rig up a pull cable.

truck is a 97' ext cab long bed 4x4 auto with 187k 5'' straight pipe and pump mods, pyro and boost gauges

if you do go with a cable I have found that it is hard to get the cable not to transmit sound into the cab.

Not sure if I am having the same problem. Sometimes my truck will start and other times I have to manually pull the solenoid up so that it will start. Have a new solenoid on truck and is still doing the same thing. Was OK for about a week then started acting up. Do I need to get another solenoid and have it installed or is there something else that could be the problem. It almost seems like if it is a nice day, weather wise, then it starts fine. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. would like to get this fixed before cold weather sits in for good.

Likely the relay, possibly the fusible link
