Hey so here's my issue, was my issue before when I was posting about not being able to get past 40psi. My fuel shut off solenoid was not lifting all the way, maybe allowing 7-10mm travel. Took it off cleaned it put it back on and now allowed full travel. However before it felt like it was even tho it clearly wasn't (felt like I could bottom out the solenoid) now I took my afc off today again to put a heavier spring in and I checked it again cause I felt I had lost some "uuumph" and sure enough not allowing full travel again, not as bad as before but still. And again I can pull it all the way up but doesn't go all the way back. Repeat what I did before and full travel again. I thought to adjust it but it was traveling all the way. Figured id measure it and put the key to "on" and lift it up as I'm told it should hold itself there but it doesn't? Could this be my problem? My dad tell me there should be a pull, hold, and ground and maybe the hold isn't working? Any ideas? Thanks guys!

Yes there is a wire to energize it and a wire to hold it and a ground. When the starter is engaged, it also powers the energize wire. In the "on" position, the hold wire is energized.

Theres a bunch of threads on it so you might search a little.

Did you remove and clean out the innards of the solenoid?
Gunk gets compacted inside the barrel of the solenoid and won't allow full travel especially if the boot is torn or missing.

thats also the diagram i was trying to read, is there a fuse i should look to replace for the hold, or am i seeing sh*t?

Is the boot really needed? Mine has just had a metal rod for the 3 years I've owned it and I've never thought much about it.
Not if you are willing to remove the assy every now and then and clean the bore and piston. I used a shotgun bore brush, then sprayed on some dry lube. I did that for about 600,000 miles until the rod became unattached from the piston and I was forced to replace the solenoid. Now days the boot is pretty inexpensive, they used to be about $40.
