I just bought a 1990 W250 last night and it needs a sending unit. I called the dealership, napa, and a couple salvage yards and can't find one. Does anybody know where to get one from?
Thanks,
Blake

By any chance would you have the part number of the complete fuel module? My dealership still says they can't get one.
If you got the entire module for that you definitely got a smoking deal.my local dealer had one in stock, it seemed to be a common item. they told me that it was a common fail item in these trucks and im assuming that the sending unit was used in different applications as well. i also bought a new filler neck doughnut gasket. $65 bucks for the sending unit (cheaper than ebay) they said the used to sell just the module for the level reader (which was the fail part) and you would just rebuild your old one, but now they just sell the whole unit $65 i was expecting it to be way more than that. this was a few months ago, and i will look through my receipts and try to find a part number also for you.......
I would if it weren't already in the tank and back in the truck. Basically it is the entire white module that goes into your tank. It has the large plastic spanner nut that holds it into the tank. There is the large sealing washer that seals the circumference. It house all of the functions for picking up, filtering and measuring fuel. It is what the fuel sending unit bolts to, or in this case it comes with it. It has the feed and return line on the top as well as the electrical connector that send the fuel level to the instrument cluster. It has a vent on top. I am not sure if this helps. The Chrysler dealer that I go to had a picture in their parts breakdown on their computer. I paid $266 for it out the door.Im interested in a picture of the part if you can be so kind to take one when u get it... i just been back and forth with this part and a picture with price would definately clear things up.... thnx
Jeepster401, yea your right i guess you bought the whole canister (coffee can sized) unit that had the pickup tube, pickup screen, sender all in one anti slosh container that fits in the tank...yea all i bought was the sending unit that fits in that. it would definatly be a good idea to replace the whole thing but my pockets told me that i can only do the sending unit. ;]
I am still having trouble ordering the fuel module the part# 52018309 is for a 1991 and he said it won't fit my truck and my price is $366.00. The dealer also said dodge discontinued the part in 2001 for the 1990. Is there any differences between the 1990 fuel module and the 1991 fuel module?[/QUO
I am not sure on that, maybe try another dealer and see what story they give you. It is a Carter part. I am not sure why it would have changed in 1991 they still made N I/C then.
