I just put a new injection pump on a 1990 non intercooled cummins. The engine starts and idles fine but wont rev more than a couple hundred RPM's. If I plug the fuel return from the injection pump it will run like its supposed to. Please any and all help and advice is greatly appreciated.

After several days of thinking and working on the problem I finally found my problem. When putting the injection pump and lines back on I mistakenly put a restrictive fitting in both the return line and the line leaving the fuel filter. There should only be a restrictive line on the injection pump return line. Hopefully my mistake will help somebody down the road.

Nobody seems to be giving you much attention, do they?

So you used a banjo bolt with a pinhole at the filter?

How'd you get a second pinhole banjo bolt?

They sent one with the rebuilt injection pump and I still had the origional one. I guess if the bolt has out writen on the head than that means out of the injection pump not the filter housing. I cant belive I got these mixed up, I'ts like I was always taught that experiance is the best teacher it just hurts the most.
