I have had a FASS 150 on my old truck and it was loud. You could hear it over the sound of the truck. I don't want that on my new truck. Is that air dog that loud?

No its not, my buddy has one on his 04.5 and the only time you hear it is when you turn the key on and it primes the pump, after that you cant hear it over the truck.
The new FASS pumps are quiter now.
Would I have to get the air dog 150 or would the raptor 150 be fine??

Yes I only hear my HPFP when I prime the system...other then that it is not too bad. But airdog is very quiet too.

That is a personal call since the biggest advantage of the AD150 is the added fuel filtration and water separation. Personally if you have the cash I would go for the AirDog but if not then a pf7977 in the canister and a bigger w/s on a FB3111 base with a 10 to 6 JIC o-ring fitting with some push locks will help you out.
The newer FASS/HPFP systems (150GPH and less) are much quiter due to a design change. You may be able to get a hold of Bradd and send your old pump in to get updated if its too loud for your taste.

Yesterday I made a statement about Brett Robine and his Dodge with an older FASS 150/150 and my Dodge with a 9 month old Fass 150/150. Brett's is so loud you hee it inside the cab of the running truck. Mine is so quiet you have to shut off the engine and stand beside it to hear it. No comparison. Brett loves the sound of his. I find it to be too loud. Bottom line is that the new FASS systems are getting a bad rap from the old design gear/plate.
