1998 5.9 cummins diesel in a frieghtliner stepvan

My fuel filter keeps getting clogged. Once I change it, it lasts about 3 days before it is clogged again. When I take the filter out I dont see any particles or debris. The truck runs fine until fuel filter gets clogged then it will stall on me occasionally. I was reading somewhere about algea in the tank, could this be the culprit and if so is there a cure without dropping tank
Thanks

How cold is it where you are. You could be getting diesel gelling. It you had algae in the tank then the filter would have black looking stuff looks a bit like used engine oil all over it.

It's not the cold anyway. If you still have an old filter, put it and some gas in a clear container shake it up and see what settles out of the filter. If it is dirt of some kind then the gas will wash it out of the filter so you can see whats going on. DON'T re-use that filter, throw it in the trash or burn it.
