A flathead screwdrivee and a hammer is all you need... just start tapping till you get a good grip to take a screw out

should be paying attention to my fiance, but rather I'm talking with you guys!

Chisel a slot into the screw. Do yourself a favor and go to autozone and buy an impact screwdriver that you smack with a hammer for 10 bucks. Good luck

Gauges cost. I know I need them but pulling a fuel plate is free. Not trying to sound like an ignorant punk or anything. I'm not doing anything but daily driving.

Sounds like the famous last words of a kid with future melted pistons.

A boost gauge is needed, the EGT gauge only helps tune for tuning and to give a rough idea of how much fuel is being burnt. If you're truck is pushing 40 psi and there's a large amount of smoke at 40 psi then you'll know to put the plate back in and tune it. Most if not all melted pistons from the 12V is from either too much timing, an injector issue or a coolant jet clogging. Inside the bowl of the piston the temperatures exceed 4000 degrees. When fuel comes in contact with the piston it will melt like butter.

I put in a cheapy boost gauge when I first got my truck, planned on gauges 'soon'.... still don't have them, my bad. But, watch your boost, your smoke, and you can get by. But get a nice set as soon as you can. Makes tuning a whole lot easier, too.

I was worried about melting a piston in my truck when I ran no plate and no gauges...it turns out I can barely touch 1100* pulling 20k

Measured where? Pre or post turbo? You have one sick engine, or a really inaccurate gauge, if you can't exceed 1100 degrees pre-turbo. Even with a mild #11 plate full forward I could easily push past 1300 with a big trailer behind me.

Internet myth. An oversized exhaust doesn't do much below 400hp. I saw zero difference in egt and power when I went to a 4 inch.
