I have all of the deletes and was getting 23 mpg on the open road when not towing. Then I clean the MAP sensor (which was almost plugged solid) and now I am getting 20 MPG. I thought I would gain not loose MPG. Could the MAp be bad.

I've been following this forum on and off for 3 years now. Every year around this time people start having mileage dropping issues. It is often just the weather. These trucks seem to get a couple mpg worse mileage in winter. That might be the winter fuel, or it might be thicker oil on startup, or whatever. I don't know.

In spring time we have some miracle cures too as everyone starts to get better mpg suddenly.

I've already noticed my mpg drop off. It was pretty sudden and I think it came with the last fueling. So I'm attributing it to winter fuel.

I think it has a lot to do with winter fuel especially if you live a really cold area

Winter fuel is being rolled out all over the place and is the main cause of this.

For the guy that cleaned his map and lost 3 mpg instantly, what did you clean it with? If you cleaned it with the wrong stuff and it left a film or layer, that could cause problems.

I always loose some mileage during the winter to the winter fuel blend here in CO, but with a good additive for the fuel it is not quite as severe. I usually run the Lucas Oil Fuel Treatment or the Power Service Diesel Kleen + CTane Boost. They also both help with preventing gel in the fuel for when it actually starts getting cold.

That might be my problem, but is has not really got cold here yet although they expect it to get in the low 30's Friday.

Also I cleaned it with a can of cleaner made for cleaning it. I got it at Autozone. It was pretty glogged up and took awhile to get it clean.

This friend was telling me on his 07 diesel he gets better mileage if he adds a qt. of oil to the tank, i have not tried it on my 2010. Has anyone heard of this?
