well my fuel gauge hasnt been working for about a month now and i am installing an air dog and i thought it was just a bad contact on the sending unit but then i pulled it out, it turns out my float is gone, and i found the float and its torn up and cant be put back on, any ideas of what i could do?
i dont have the money for a new fuel sending unit though.

junkyard? stop by some local shops especially if they specialize in diesel and see if they have any old units, i know i have a float off of a gasser dodge, dont know how much different it is.

I guess if you don't have $70 you can keep running without. Dodge sells the sender by itself. You have to work with a parts guy to convince him to look for sender.

Ping Pong ball
Glue a zip tie to it.
Then zip tie it to the sender arm.

i thought about that but i just figured the diesel would eat the ping pong ball away, or it would come off and i would have to end up dropping the tank, again.

Block of wood? Nothing's gonna eat the wood.

I dunno... Factory float is plastic, as is the tank... Just gotta find the right kind of plastic. PVC should resist fuel oil.
