At what mileage do you guys change your fuel filter ? I've heard all kinds of different opinions, every 3000miles ,every 6000 miles, yearly, which mileage works best ?

I look at it this way... filters are cheep compared to injectors and pumps. I change my oil every 3k miles and do my fuel filter every other oil change. Some folks think this is excessive but again, if the oil is the lifeblood of my CTD, I want clean blood. It only seems logical to keep the fuel system clean too. As soon as I can scrape up the cash, I will have an FS2000 system and I'll have to monitor the fuel a little closer.

Depends on what is in the canister. When I ran a Purolater fuel filter I could about 10,000 miles or so and it was fine. But when I run the 5 micron Baldwin PF7977 fuel filter I can only get about 5000-7500 miles since it is a finer filter and traps more crap...which is a good thing. Right now I got the 7 micron Fleetgaurd in the canister and I hope to either today or tomorrow get a 2 micron cat fuel filter put inline, when I get it on I will throw up some pictures.

Manual says 15K.

I do mine every 10. My 07.5 uses a different filter than the 5.9's. I'm stuck with the dealer filters for a while.

Come to think of it, I'm due!:thud:
