I have a 08 is that the same,how often should you change the shell and what brand are the part numbers for.

This is designed for all 6.7L engines built from 07.5 to the 09 trucks. I believe and I maybe wrong that the 2010 truck has a different filter housing. Since I read that this is service differently now.
The housing should last until you break it some how, that is why Cummins has provided the replaceable filter.
In my opinion.
