Am I retarded? Been a mechanic for 10 years, lots of tools, lots of experience. I cannot find a way to get the Fuel Shut Off Solenoid off. Is there a special wrench to sneak in there or what? Tried two cable shut offs and neither one worked for very long. Tired of popping my hood to shut the truck off. How do yall do it????

And also, what is the life expectancy of a FSS with the pump turned up???

The last time I took a FSS out I stood the wrench up vertical and put a bar in the box end and turned it to loosen the FSS.

A highly turned up pump will probably keep eating them. Did you read the sticky about that?

I've had my pump at runaway for about 4 years, I've owned the truck for 6. Never done it. Hope I didn't jinx myself. Knock on wood. Lol

I cut the rear pump to engine mounting plate flush with the pump. I was expecting that I might have to change the FSS more than one time. Makes the job one heck of a lot easier.
