Hey Diesel nuts, I think I need to cover up the front end of my truck. But before I do I thought I would ask around on the kind and operation while having it on the truck. So anyone with a front end cover can you tell me what to do and not to do with it on? and where is the best place to get it as all the dealer around CNY have told me that Dodge has discontinued it.

I have the Mopar one i bought online. really easy to install and looks good (not that you can really see it) i think its worth the 120 bucks. I cant remember where i got mine, just google it and you will find one. It helps a bit on the really cold days to close all the flaps up, get some heat a little quicker

Throw a piece of canvass in front of the rad, works great and alot cheaper.

What do you all see in the winter front? It seems to me that the front isn't going to do anything but starve the engine of air. The cooler the air the better, and the cold air also helps keep things cool as well. So why would you want to insulate the engine compartment?

Explain to me why you think it's a worthwhile project. I'm just curious about your opinions, not trying to be a a$$.

Because when it's super cold outside your truck will not warm up.

I drove my truck for one day when it was -28C before putting the winter front on. I drive about 35 miles each way to work. Plugged it in all night with the block heater, let it idle for 10 minutes at 1400 RPM, and then drove to work. Temperature gauge never moved, and I never got any warm air coming out of the vents.

Even running the winter front with all the flaps closed, on days when it's super cold here you can watch the factory temp gauge drop when you're sitting at a red light idling.
