It's had an alignment... So lengthen and balance fixed yours ?

You do not need it lengthened until a 6"

There is plenty of slip joint already built in for anything 0"-5"

I had mine lengthened 1-1/2" for my 6" lift

I would suggest taking it off, and taking it into a good reputable shop. It might need to be rebuilt and rebalanced

Moan most likely is coming from the shaft being slightly out of balance or excessive pinion angle. Pinion angle you can test at home by playing with the caster cams (within reason). While you're down there, go ahead and grease your driveshaft (search the forum, tons of info on this). If those 2 things do not solve the problem, take it to a GOOD driveline shop and have them work their magic.

Replace those with 12 point heads from ARP. Best thing I ever did on the driveshaft

Sorry it took so long to get back.. I finally got the front shaft out and all my noise from the front end is gone ! So what exactly needs to be done to correct this problem ? I don't have a shop nearby that works on driveshafts, there is a welding shop here that will lengthen it but, are they going to be able and make things better by doing that ? Do I just order a new one online ? I have no idea what to do at this point.. We are supposed to get snow end of next week and I need to do something by then and I hate to just put this one back in..

If the joints feel good you can grease the double cardon joint and pull the rubber boot off the splines, grease them really good and put it back together, that took care of mine. If the joints feel bad I would price out a new one vs. rebuilding yours.

Please don't take it to a welder.... that will solve nothing at all. It needs to go to a driveline shop so they can inspect it and tell you whats wrong (all driveline shops have welders too ;) ). This is one of those situations where it needs to be done by a professional and there is very little you can do at home short of changing out some u-joints and greasing.

What's your zip code?
