I was reading about the EZ and searching through different posts and every one I read said the EZ was a pressure only box. So I emailed Edge tech support and these were the responses I got:

My Email:

The other question is more technical and am hoping someone at edge can
elaborate on it for me. I've heard the EZ is a pressure ONLY box. It
just increases injection pressure to achieve it's performance gains.
I've also heard that injection pressure can kill injectors. So my
questions are:

- Is the only thing the EZ is doing for performance is injection
pressure? Does it do extra fueling too? Does it do any timing?

- Will an EZ on any level hurt stock injectors?

- Is level one easier on the truck than level three?

- What is the EZ doing on each of the levels? Example: Level three does
xx psi of injection pressure and xx timing. Level one does no timing
and xx psi pressure.

Their response:

For mileage, I would try it is one of the lower levels and you may get better mileage there, each truck reacts a bit differently so it is hard to say, but try it and and see what works best for you.
As far as what the EZ box does, some of them just do fuel pressure, but for your particular truck it is actually just doing timing and duration, so we actually aren't adding any pressure on that truck. On other applications we do add pressure, but have not experienced trouble with injectors, unless there was already a problem there and our module exposed it. As for the specifics of how much timing we are adding I don't have access to that information, and if I did we aren't allowed to release that information.

My reply:

Thanks for the reply. So just to verify, from the serial number I gave
you for my box you can tell that it just does timing and duration? I
want to make sure in case I wanted to stack with another box and I've
heard you're not suppose to stack two timing boxes.

What there ever an EZ made for my truck that does pressure? A newer
model? If so, would it be more efficient or better than my current box?

Their reply:

Just from the application it is on, none of our EZ modules new or old for the VP-44 trucks do pressure they all do just timing and duration. You are correct you don't want to stack two modules that just do timing. If you are looking to do that I would find something that just does fuel pressure.

Just an FYI post. I wanted to know what it was doing, whether pressure or timing...

There's a lot of misinformation floating around out there, especially with edge's marginal tech support reps. One guy was arguing a few months back on there that the VP EZ was a pressure box "because the guy on the phone at edge told him it was."

I'm sure they would add pressure if they could but the fact of the matter is that the VP only pushes a set psi. It doesn't vary. Well, at least not like a CR.
