So i put my new mag-hytech trans pan on and i found a piece of metal stuck to the magnet in the stock pan. It was about 2" long and arched, as if it was part of a circular clip.

Anyways where do i begin with a trans rebuild. I know i want to use garmon, but i wanted to get a few opinions on what i actually need to buy. I pull a toy hauler about 8 times a year. Want to build my truck with a bigger turbo and maybe up to 90's eventually. The trans feals tight still. So where do i begin? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah apparently it's an OD retainer clip, somewhat common. I was told by a few not to worry about it? I could be wrong, but if you're planning on building it anyway, why not see how long this one lasts?

I found the same piece in mine, about 1.5 inches long. Its been on my dresser....for well over a year now! Maybe two! And I tow hard with my truck all summer, and plow hard all winter. I was told to leave it be, when the rest of the clip goes it goes and you'll loose reverse or OD or something. But so far so good. I just knocked on wood, btw.

I have had this happen and spent the money to have mine rebuilt with all new hard and soft parts and installed a shift kit with a triple disk converter. Money well spent and a better piece of mind. Only reason I rebuilt is that I need the piece of mind when traveling with family. If it were only me I can handle my own but the family needs to be riding a well built machine. The only thing I need is to have my tranny break loose on a decent at 7% grade while pulling doubles.
