Installed Fluidampr dampener along with new Cummins repair sleeve front crank seal. Fluidampr results: very smooth idle, less vibrations, noticeable triple disc converter shifts, new sounds, and easier revs. New seal resulted in no more leaks up front. Also used the Ford 73 gasket maker.

Looks good and solid review. If it worked with a GDP fuel boss I'd be all over one

any clearance issues?

None. The Fluidampr replaces both pieces of the oem perfectly in its place.

Also pictured is the Fleece barring tool. It is bolted on courtesy of ARP fasteners. They make bolts for this application as well.

I like that whole set-up! The price isn’t too bad either.

Did you have to remove the timing cover to replace the front crank seal? I have to do mine sooner than later. Where did you buy the parts?

I did remove the cover. You probably will have much less issues overall if you do. If you don’t, the cover may leak (if not already) shortly after. Two birds with one stone. The truck to having zero issues after the repair are : to buy Cummins repair sleeve oil seal kit, the two installer tools, and use Ford73 (Motorcraft) gasket maker.

Others may have done differently and been ok, but I didn’t want to do it again for a while and cannot stand leaks under the truck. Last and final leak (weep?) to kill is the CP3!

I assume you didn't pin the dampner? How much of an improvement was the dampener? 10% improvement? Or so you really have to focus to notice the improvement?

This is on my list of goodies to buy Black Friday.

No, didn’t pin it. Did see where you could but at this point my truck doesn’t live above that rpm very much at all...but will! Let me know your thoughts about pinning. Otherwise it’s pretty quick to get it off. Maybe someone on here has done it.

For improvement, I notice the differences every time I start and drive it. I don’t know any dyno numbers however. I bought it for less vibes overall, which will help increase the power train life as well as smooth out truck. Smoothness definitely gets a vote and it’s quieter. Oh and if your truck had the belt squeal when you shut down, it doesn’t after this. Somewhere I read municipal trucks use these and those trucks do over a million miles or the max they can get.

Would you happen to have the part number for the ARP bolt you used?---PLEASE/THANKS.

I been threatening getting a Fluidampr for years. Trouble is the conflicting reviews... Some people say they noticed all kinds of great things and some people say they noticed nothing. Thats a lot of money for mere self satisfaction. :confused013:

I have a first gen one, barely noticed anything, my HD was shot so it was a no brainer. The 6.7 ones were more expensive everywhere i found it.

I ordered one the other day for the truck in my sig, it has 311,000 miles and it’s original as far as I know so I figured it can’t hurt and it’s probably due anyways, yeah it’s kinda pricey but I got it at 10% off on a Black Friday deal for $377. We'll see how it feels once I get it on and I’ll report here and make a new thread.

Nice. Huge increase in range. I have been thinking about an aux tank. Would like one as an aux and with a pump for equipment. Please post a pic when you get to it.

I installed one on my old 96 5sp. Huge difference. Quieter, somehow made shifting easier, smoother. I plan on doing the same to my 05. Since I spent a bunch on Thuren, it will have to wait a bit.
