hey, so im new here but figured this would be a good place to get input.

i have a 2013 ram 2500, fully deleted, 150 hp EFI live tuner, bank ram air filter, and some other cosmetic stuff done to the tuck. i haven't really done any major motor work yet. the bearing in my turbo is going and im looking at just doing a replacement. im unsure if i want to stick with the VGT turbo or switch to a fixed vein turbo. If i were to do the swap, what else do you guys recommend to replace while doing the turbo? i am looking at going a little bigger for more power but dont want to do anything too huge till i can build the trans more. is their anything i should replace right away so it doesnt let loose because of a bigger turbo?

You can bust stuff with your OEM one running what you have?
A Fixed VANE is simpler. To utilize it, retuning should be done.
Do you still want an exhaust brake?
Keep that in your plans on budgeting

Mine also had efi already, so at the first sign of vgt trouble, I put on the BD turbo/ebrake kits rather than spend a dime on the vgt. I used the smallish 363/80/.91 because of my altitude and it was still a big boost in respond and power over the vgt. Drive pressure and egt came way down... Two of the best reasons, by themselves, to get rid of the vgt, let alone the reliability issues.
You should be able to pick one that will work on your current fuel and still have good reserve. Craig
