Has anyone put a Fitch Fuel Catalyst on their 6.7L? The marketing for the product makes it look like it would work. Any/all feedback is appreciated.

Thanks..... Rhyno

I read several user reviews on this and a couple of other diesel truck websites a few years ago. The general consensus was that it might have a plausible claim for improvement in a gasoline vehicle but not really in a diesel truck. While it didn't cause any kind of failure or DECREASED driving manners or fuel economy, it didn't show any increases either. For what one of those systems cost, i would put that towards an FASS system if i were worried about purifying my fuel. Sorry, I don't have any specific links for you but if you do a search you should come up with some older threads that talked about it a pretty good deal.

Buddy of mine has been running one for I'll bet 3 or 4 years and he did pick up 1mpg with it. For the cost of it, you'd have to drive an awfully long way to make it pay for itself.

it was a 06 Mega Cab. That truck was pretty much stock.

So the "Fitch Fuel Catalyst" is a magic metal that you plumb into your fuel system, and it either increases the octane of gasoline or increases the cetane of Diesel as it flows by.

Well, that's easy enough to verify. Anybody got an oven or kiln that can go up to 800 degrees?

Probably a nickel catalyst that has the fuel is flowing though it, same thing we do for cracking liquid ammonia into an endo gas, than add methanol too bring the dew point back to 27-30, as the gas becomes “dry”.
I think that is what Begle1 is saying to do. I find it hard to believe that you can bolt something on that will increase mileage substantially. What ever happened to the threads on the systems that made hydrogen and got injected into the intake horn, bet they did not perform, would like to have someone chime in on there mileage increase with those “boxes”

I was advocating putting a few drops of the "catalyzed" fuel into an oven along with the non-"catalyzed" fuel and seeing if one of the drops went off before the other drop... High octane gasoline should light off after regular-octane gasoline, high-cetane Diesel should light off before regular-cetane Diesel.

I guess your way would work too... It's, like, more technical...
