I have decided to fight to have my ticket dismissed.
Violation: No mud flap/improper mud flap
5am on the 25 of October, easing out of my neighborhood, 20mph or less as to not disturb the neighbors.
Stopped at a stop sign, and get lit up while sitting still. I continued through the intersection and pulled over to where the officer was safe out of harms way. The usual goes down, hand him my DL and CHL with my insurance. Comes back with a ticket for me to sign and says have a nice day. No warning, or lecture on how I could kill women and children in Ethiopia because I dont have flaps, just a straight up ticket.
A simple warning would have sufficed in getting me to install flaps, or a fix-it ticket.
Why Fight it? On principal. The officer in question did everything by the book and I give him kudos, but at what point do you decide to act like a robot and not a person. Smile when you approach, get to know the people that you are protecting and serving.
Oh, and dont make the ticket appear as you pulled me over on the 24th of October at 10:32 Pm. I happend to be asleep at that time. Oh and dont have a written sworn statement waiting on me at the Municipal building stating that you pulled me over on the 24th when in reality it was 7 hours later on the next day, check the tape. I'll gladly pay $300 in court fees to fight a $171 ticket simply because the officer was trying to be a hard arse.
