I'm a die hard cummins man and I have loved my past trucks but I'm havin a difficult time with my 6.7. It has been flawless until I hit 70k miles, just randomly the battery gauge went in the red and the lightning bolt came on in the dash and I kept driving it and it completely quit on me! So I first went and checked the batteries and they were bad so I got two new batteries and it stil wouldn't run so then I got a new alternator and it did fine. It went great for about a week and it did the same thing tonight and completely quit on me again and let me stranded and I had to catch a ride home in my buddies d max, and yes that kills me hah, what could it be guys???? I have no clue, the only idea I have is my fooled box from badp could have went bad making it throw a code shutting it down??? I need help guys, or I'll have to do some tradin!!

Too bad man, it sucks when $hit doesnt work right. I had the lighting bolt and CEL come on once for crappy batteries. Replaced the batteries and it went away, but the dealer had to replace the instrument cluster...(whatever that is). When voltage drops, bad stuff happens in these trucks. I would take it to the dealer and see what codes are coming up>!>!>!

Didnt the 06 have a electical issue with them over charging battery's? Not sure if its close to what your issue is, have you talked to the dealer?

I have one and it has had electonic issues since i bought it! Back to top, if you said it was better after you put an alnernator on and your truck had no issues for 70k before that, maybe its just bad luck and you got another bad alnenator, but i dont think it should have caused this many issues, seams like you just would be able to keep a charge but you said it quit while going down the road so...hmm

Bummer, I hate those sneaky gremlins.

Try putting a charger on it for a few hours. If it works for a little while after that then the problem is battery or alternator related. These trucks are very sensitive to low voltage. I know you replaced both but it may be a bad replacement.
