fass inline filter

I am in the process of putting a FASS DDRP 02 on my 2001 ram (have stopped for the night ). It came with a inline filter to be put in the line to the pump . Maybe it was just getting dark but I could not tell where to cut it into the line . It is stainless from the tank almost to the inlet on the pump . That last portion looks like a black plastic type tubing with a larger tubing over it . Where do you cut it to install the inline filter ? In the black tubing or the stainless line .
