I got the idea from DP. They mention stacking your edge with a smarty. I like the simple settings on the jr and already have the ez. Anyone tried it?

I have not done it, but i've heard of people doing it with the regular smarty. You just have to know what settings on the smarty run timing, and which ones don't. Because the edge for what i understand is a timing box. you'd have to run the smarty on the settings that don;t run timing.
exactly...i have also been told it takes away power from the edge and the smarty...but the smarty from what ive been told is the best for the edge. I was thinkin about doin it but wanted to see what other guys though first...
I thought the EZ was pressure only which should work fine with the Smarty.

SEARCH...there are 10000 threads about this.
EZ is a pressure box on 04.5+ trucks. So there for smarty and ez stack good for 04.5+ trucks. I think on 03-04 it may add timing as well so you just have to watch what you run on the smarty
Why stack at all, I have ran an EZ on my truck for years and just got a smarty, the smarty does timing, rail pressure, boost fooler. I have heard of people stacking, but whats the point? I was gonna try it before I sell my EZ just to see what the deal is but I really dont see the point in it.
I stacked the Smarty Jr. and Edge EZ until I upgraded to the SR. I had no problems at all. The Jr. does the fueling and timing and the EZ does the pressure. I ran the Jr. on SW 2 TM4 TQ2 and the EZ on 1 for daily driving.

On the dyno I ran Jr. on SW3 default (of course) and EZ on 3 and put down 422hp/854tq. I had some serious TC shudder though.

There aren't 1000's of posts about stacking Jr with anything.

The EZ is a pressure only box for the 3rd gens.

The OP was specifically referring to the JR. The Jr. doesn't add pressure like the Sr.

Not trying to ruffle feathers, just keeping it apples to apples.

I've kind of been stumped by this exact question. Now that Smarty does Rail Pressure, why the need to stack a pressure box?

I mean, obviously you don't HAVE to stack a pressure box with it, but it seems like most people still prefer to stack some sort of pressure box, even with the addition of selectable rail pressure with the Smarty.

Anyone have some good hard data to explain why it's better to use a dedicated pressure box vs. using the Smarty to adjust rail pressure?
Boostjunky.... I see u stacked edge w/aditude with smarty pod.. That's what I'm looking into. Can u help me out with info???? Thanks!

Did you notice any MPG increases running the Jr/EZ combo on those settings? I am planning on running the same set up.

Was that a stock t/c?
IYO, Is this setup more potent than a solo Juiced W/ Attitude?

Yeah he was stock, I was impressed that his stocker would hold that much power

As to what is more potent I'd say if you have the hot unlock for the juice then no, if not then yeah. My truck put down 412 with the juice on 5 (100 horse setting). Course my truck put down 291 with no tuning so a 100 horse tune made 121? You also have an 04 so it might be a little different from the 04.5+ trucks.

Best I had was about 16-17 in the city if I was driving for that purpose. Normally 15-16 in the city. On the hwy I'd get around 20-21 if I don't play. The EGT's never were lower though.

I'm still running my stock tranny/TC/VB.

I haven't run the juice w/attitude on the dodges, just on my 01 ford psd. I liked my Jr alot better than I liked my J/A. But then again, I like my cummins better than the PSD.

This may be a dumb question but, is anyone running a JWA hot on stock tc / vb?

I used to...needless to say, that didn't work out as a long term situation.

That's a nice polite way to put it :lol2:
