Dunno being in 4th gear is the point. What you are looking for is normal/full exhaust temperature long enough for the ecu to enter dpf regen mode. I did straight (left in drive) 65mph highway for 15-20 miles before mine would happen. Easily identifiable if you have a pyrometer, temps climb substantially and fall back to occasionally as it happens. You can even tell by the MPG on the evic, my 18 ave. would drop 13-15 for the run. Crazy.
