Hey guys, I recently had to change out my thermostat on my 08 cummins and completely forgot to reconnect the exhaust manifold pressure line. I realized my turbo was alot louder for some reason and finally figured out the problem. My question is, what is this lines purpose? And is it bad to leave it off? I didn't throw any codes either.

Is your manifold plugged where the line attaches to it? It's fine to leave it unplugged, I left mine open when I did the 2nd gen swap.

It is an exhaust back pressure sensor see the sensor in the thermostat housing that the line leads too should not be disconnected. Doubt it did any harm but clean the line out they get full of soot and hook it back up
