I want to replace my exhaust when I do the DPF delete. The mufflers are so short compared to the 5.9's.

Does anyone make a better flowing muffler and Tail Pipe that does not give me a bunch of harmonic noise in the cab? I want it quiet. Don't care what it sounds like. . .

I put a hushpower on mine, Its made by Flowmaster. You arent gonna have a lot of noise anyways so this will kill whatever drone you get. The muffler is only about 24" long as well. Good product. Use the stock tailpipe section and add a tip if you like.

I wish I could hear one. . . . There aren't that many diesel fanatics around here, but there are allot of Dodge Diesels.

I am skeptical on what I do because of the Banks I put in my 04. Hated the noise at 70 MPH.

At least this time I am leaving the converter in

With the Cat in the D/P you will get almost no increase in noise from the exhaust. Leaving the factory muffler in place will keep that 70 MPH drone down. I would try just the delete, leaving everything else in place. You will be happy with that.

If I can somehow convince the guys at IP&D to sell me just a module, I have every intention of going to a junkyard and pulling a full stock TBE off a 06-07 5.9L CTD and putting it on my 6.7L. I am like you, Polaraco, in that I want a quiet, stock appearance and sound just minus all restrictive emissions equipment.

does anyone out there just sell the module? By the module you mean what replaces the dpf filter right?

Does the Hushpower actually flow well? I have considered getting one.

No, the module I am referring to is the electronic box that plugs into the ECM and fools it into believing that the EGR system and DPF system are present and operating under normal parameters. IP&D's module reportedly does this, along with adding a 95hp tune, all in one device. After that it is a simple measure of unplugging all the sensors from the exhaust, zip-tying them to the frame out of the way, and replacing the entire exhaust, from the turbo back, with one of your choosing.

Currently Shaun at IP&D does not sell the module by itself, however. It can only be purchased in a complete kit along with a 5" TBE. I am hoping to sweet talk him into selling me just the module, however. If not, maybe I can con him into selling me just the module, a new 4" downpipe, and a straight pipe to replace the cat and DPF so I have an unrestricted but otherwise stock exhaust. I have no need or desire for a big, loud, full exhaust. I like quiet, stock looking, and unnoticeable, especially when it comes to the eyes and ears of our local Department of Public Safety.

Yeah, as far as i am concerned its a great muffler. I havent noticed any drip off in flow or power since putting it on. Its not really straight through but all that is there is a mesh. You can see right through it. The mesh just deflects the sound around to deaden the drone. Leaves a nice deep tone.:thumbsup

I understand what the dpf is and function. But what is a dpf "delete?"

It removes the DPF from the exhaust system and includes a fooler box to trick the ECM into thinking the DPF is present and working properly with no need for a regen. This prevents the active regen cycle and saves fuel.
