Engine Oil Leak

Just took my truck in for an oil change at 3,000 miles. Free from the dealer. They noticed oil leaking around two of the oil pan gasket screws. They replaced the gasket and so far so good. They did say if that was not the problem they would remove the timing cover and replace that gasket as well. Dealer said theses are common problems they have encountered with these trucks.

I noticed a little moisture on the side of my oil pan before the first change, but I wiped it up and have seen nothing since. I was just under there today chasing an alignment issue, and checked. I've got around 26k on her now, so far so good.

Hopefully your fixed up now.
Yea, I love the truck. Tows great. Hopefully that was it.

I just had my third timing cover put on today. They swear up and down it's not the front main seal. They discovered that the timing cover is two pieces pressed together and mine had oil in between the two pieces. Not sure how that happened. My leak was dripping from the bottom of the front cover and puddling up on the front of the oil pan. I have 4800 miles on my truck. I hope this is the last time I have to deal with this leak but I'm thinking I'll be back in..
Sorry to hear that. Sounds like Chrysler needs to issue some recalls on these trucks.
