Hi guys,
A little back ground of my truck, we rebuild the engine first had a major leak throu the side cover of the engine and a antifreeze leak in the back of the head having in mind this 2 issues and planning to have this truck for a long time i ended up rebuilding the engine. We send the head to machine shop new rings, pistons bushings, bearings. Block sleves were all straight just a little hone and thats it.

Before we took apart the engine we didn't had this hard knock, we even checked the flex plate and we didn't saw any cracks.

Long story short, i been driving the truck with this knock some couple thousand miles.

Now the sound it's starting to anoy me.

Somebody have had the same problem?

I will post some videos, one is a cold start where you can hardly hear the knock and one is when is already warm the knock increases

Thank's bigfish95971 for your reply.
We put new road bearings, road bushings and pistons.

What i found pretty akward is that the sound appears when the engine is warm.

Can a rocker arm would lead to the knock?

If a valve is the problem, would be getting stuck or hitting the piston?

My coworkers are gas mecanics but they have rebuild a couple diesel with good results(internet helps alot this days)
They were the ones that help me.

Well. . . after driving it with it knocking for a few thousand miles you can expect signs of failure. Keep running & it will just get worse. Pull your oil filter & use a filter cutter to open it up & inspect your filter element for debris while your waiting for your oil sample results to return.

PS: Hold off on filling the crankcase with fresh oil until you know if a another teardown is required.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

could possibly be valvetrain. did you check valve lash after the break in period? did you re-torque the head also? supposed to do those after the first 150 miles
