I know this question has been answered 1000 times...but can someone tell me what this code means? I threw it on the way home from having my o2 control module replaced (seperate CEL). Dealer said they also had to perform a "manual DPF clean out"??? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It's a problem with your turbo. Is your Ram and early build 7.5? If so, press to have the turbo replaced and not just cleaned. The new turbos have been revised and do not seem to have the problems as much. You should have the lasted flash updates (AX).

My second trip to the dealer (I have made three total since June 07) was for the turbo code. The dealer said they "cleared" the trouble. I even mentioned this fact today and asked if I should be concerned given the turbo questions floating around. The dealer tech told me I have nothing to worry about. There is no recall or TSB on the turbo. Should I start looking for my next truck or will a turbo replacement solve the problem...

Turbo replacement has solved the problem for most. Just cleaning it only puts the codes off til later for most.

make sure that you have the latest software which is AP make sure they cleaned it using the new turbo cleaning kit which came to dealers about 2 weeks ago. Make sure that you use your jake brake a lot. the more you use it the cleaner the turbo will stay

Thanks for all the great advice. I am quite frustrated though. I traded my 05 2500 Hemi to join the diesel gang...I am beginning to think I made a mistake!

Hard to say if you made a mistake. Depends on what you use your truck for. I pull a 37' camper that weighs 15k, gasser ain't gonna do it.

im dealing with this issue now. my dealer told me that of now there is not a true fix of this problem. they recomended that they were going to clean all the components of the turbo as well as the egr and also to eplace all seals and gaskets. i call bs! the bad part is all the parts are on back order(how convenient). thay also said to reflash. im at the ax flash so wtf! my mom got involved and now i got a 72hr tine frame in which chrysler and the dealer are woking to get a buy back for me. i have had my truck in the shop 7 times due to CELs and 3 o2 sensor modules being replaced. and its funny how there solution to all problems is to reflash the computer!! im tired of this crap and want out of the 6.7 world. hopefully gonna get a 5.9 CR if all turns out well. sorry just had to vent some steam!!:$:

Too bad they didnt get you fixed up. Not all the 6.7s are as troublesome. Hopefully the buy back will go through so you can get a truck that will work for you, be it a 5.9 or a 6.7 or whatever you chose.

I'm going through the same P2262 crap. The dealer I'm with is not happy with the disruption to his service department from these codes either. Goes back in tomorrow to get it cleaned or whatever other excuse they can come up with.

I figure the only thing I can do is make my truck a major PITA to them and take some of their money in the form of loaner cars and shop time.

Did I mention how much I love driving a 40K+ truck with 8K miles on it and the check engine light on constantly?:BS:

Mine has been in three times for the 2262. Same thing every time, they just clean it and update the flash. Light is back on now and I called my service rep and asked him what they are going to do. He is supposebly going to contact Chrysler to figure it out. I keep telling him I want a new turbo, but nothing yet.

if the light comes on three times then the turbo is supposed to be replaced but knock on wood i have never had one come back on after cleaning it updating the software and instructing the customer to use the jake brake often.

I dropped my truck offyesterday for a P2262 code. I was told that turbo was to be replaced. Instead, they cleaned a "clogged" engine brake. I got the truck 1.5 miles from the dealership when DING CEL pops on (3rd time in 3 days). I drove back to the dealer and started my WTF speech. Long story short, my new turbo is on order. I hope this fixes my woes...STAY TUNED! :ar15

This is disturbing guys. I take delivery of my 6.7 in a few weeks. Just like the rest of you, I actually have a life outside of trips to and from the dealer. If I pop a 2262, I may leave the exhaust brake off just to aggravate the problem and make them replace the turbo sooner. The exhaust brake isn't advertised to customers as a "P2262 Preventative Device." I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I wish someone from Chrysler advised me before I put money down on this truck that it's best if I only drive my $40k truck on the highway and never to the grocery store and back. I've owned Chevy diesels in the past and I bought this one exclusively for the Cummins reputation. I don't care for the interior much, and all I really wanted was that straight six that so many people told me would never let you down. I seriously hope there's at least one person at Cummins who realizes that they had better come up with something or it's going to start affecting their sales of new trucks. With diesel prices as high as they are, I think they ought to be working overtime before too many people start saying "whatever you do don't buy a 6.7L." Okay, I'll stop with my whining. I'm still looking forward to firing up this truck.
