I added power locks and windows to my ST. I had the regular sentry grey keys with no buttons. I programmed a fob key to my truck and the keyless entry buttons don’t work. The key will start and run the truck though. Does anyone know the next step to get that working? Is it something that has to be enabled at the dealer?

Not sure what is involved with a 2006, But my 2003 had power windows but no power locks when we got it.
Purchased from a Dodge dealer on eBay 2 Fobs and a small module that plugged into the back of the cluster and then it had the power locks.

According to the service manual the RKE module is built into the Senstry key module. So it’s there. I have a pretty capabale scanner but there’s nothin on it about enabling this.

I added the power locks and they work great but the remote isn’t working

The dealer can program it to work. I had to on mine. $35.00 IIRC
Now is this to program the key or enable the keyless entry in the wireless control module?

Not sure what you purchased but if no remote ever programmed to module may need dealer or properly equipped lock smith. I would try

STANDARD PROCEDURE - RKE TRANSMITTER PROGRAMING
New Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitters can be programed using the scan tool and the proper Diagnostic
Procedures manual.
The scan tool can provide confirmation that the PCI data bus is functional, and that all of the
electronic modules are sending and receiving the proper messages on the PCI data bus.
The following procedure can be used as long as one programmed transmitter is available:
NOTE: When entering program mode using that programmed fob, ALL currently programmed fobs will be
erased and they will have to be reprogrammed for the vehicle. If program mode is entered and no action is
performed, the previously programmed fobs will continue to function.
1. Enter the vehicle and close all doors.
2. Fasten the seat belt (this will cancel the seat belt chime). Turn the ignition to the RUN position.
DR POWER LOCKS - SERVICE INFORMATION 8N - 61
3. Press and hold the UNLOCK button on a programmed transmitter for 4 to 10 seconds. Within the 4 to 10 seconds
with the UNLOCK button still depressed, press the PANIC button for one second. When a single chime is
heard, release both buttons. The chime indicates the system is in program mode.
4. Press and release both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously on a fob to be programmed. A single
chime will be heard, this indicates the fob has been recognized.
5. Press and release any button on the same fob. A single chime will be heard, this indicates the fob has been
programmed.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for up to a total of 4 fobs.
7. Turn the ignition OFF.
8. Turn the ignition ON or wait 60 seconds.
The vehicle will remain in program mode for up to 60 seconds from when the original chime (step 3) was heard.
After 60 seconds, all programmed transmitters will function normally.

This is a procedure for the 03-05 fobs. I have an 06 with the fob built into the key. I also have a scanner capable of programming keys and I have my key programming PIN code. I programmed the key to the truck. It starts and runs and the truck recognizes it as a programmed key. The lock/unlock buttons don’t work. I tried a new battery and same thing.

That is procedure from 2006 FSM pg 8n-61.
OPERATION if no programmed RKE
When replacing or adding a key fob transmitter (maximum of 4) a scan tool is required to program the RKE Module to accept the new Vehicle Access Code if a customer owned transmitter is not available.
With the scan tool, ensure that the PCM and SKREEM are programmed correctly.
Compare the PCM VIN to the SKREEM VIN and ensure the two VINs match.

you are correct that this is in the manual but the manual also states that the RKE module is built into the SKIS module in one section then the manual on page 8n-54 it states its on the back of the cluster like the 03-05 as a separate module.

i just programmed a key to my dads 06 which has the buttons using my scanner and his buttons work great. i guess i gotta go to the dealer to get this mode enabled.

The way I read it , Skreem (security key and remote key fob ) and RKE(remote door fob ) have different hardware and software, as usual FSM does a terrible job of explaining this. Depending on what you are installing, with DRBIII capable scanner would need to try and follow very confusing info in manual.
