I dunno wtf is wrong with my truck now but I installed a fuel pressure gauge which works.....but my headlights are out n when I pull the switch to on the horn goes off.....even if I unhook the wires for the gauge it still does it. I don't know what the hell to do anymore:confused013:

If it sounds like the horn is humming and you lights don't work till you pull the switch. Its probably going to be you day time running light sensor/module. Temp fix unplug it. It is bolted on the inner fender under you brake master

I don't have daytime running lights and yes but I'm trying to get as much help as possible.

Isolation is your key here.
Head light switches in these trks melt every day.
I would have it on suspect list as the 1st stop in my endeavors.
Clear that and report back .

thumper the head light switches in the older trucks, the pull out knob i knew were bad, but is the turn knob style still just as bad? havent heard much about them failing.....


i know the op should have the old style, just curious about my truck now...

As far which ones are better I dont know.
My 98.5 failed (in ALASKA !)
The Op must have the same switch as me?
Or is there a better option i missed out on?
Usually you will get that "smell" of something burning and some lights not working.
And what ever is burning definitely is not sexy in this case.
SO in the O.P. problem all things have to be considered.
There has to be crossed wires (melted) or stuck relay(s)
If all the relays were pulled and it still does it....its back to the wires.
As good as these trks are..they are not, they are just better then the alternative .

Sounds like you have crossed or used hot or ground wires incorrectly. Put back to total original wiring and use different hot wire and ground to metal dash
