Well, got 3 of my 4 gauges in the mail today so of course I had to start puttin em in. Got everything hooked up (still workin out a wiring issue with the lights) and took it for a test drive, to see how the EGT gauge would compare to what the Banks SixGun PDA was saying.

The analog gauge reads anywheres from 20* to 80* lower than the PDA. They are both connected into the same probe. Also noticed that the analog gauge doesn't respond as quickly as the PDA but I kinda expected that. For example when I backed up into the drive after a little trip, the PDA was showing 330* and the analog was showin 250*. While I was waiting for the PDA to get down to 300* the analog dropped down to 200*.

Anybody have any ideas as to why this might be occuring?

If you were driving for a while, it should take a long time for your egt's to get down to 200*. When I pull into my garage from a decent drive, I'm usually at around 330*-350* (I wait till 300* to shut down), so I'm inclined to believe that your PDA is giving you the correct egt's.

That is kinda what I was thinkin as well. Still not sure what I can do to fix this with the analog. Or just remember it runs real low and just wait an alloted amount of time. Wanting to get rid of the PDA all together.

For those that have DiPricol gauges, are you experiencing the same thing?

I might unhook the wiring for the PDA from the thermocouple and see if that makes any difference but I don't see why it should. Course then I won't have a way to compare it to the PDA either.

I'd give a call to DiProcol or the place where you ordered your gauges, and ask them what's going on. If you run it instead of the PDA, you'll never know if it's giving you accurate egt's or not.

I took out the probe that came with the 6 gun and put in the DiPricol probe. I just bolted the wiring connectors from the 6 gun into the same place that the wiring from the Pricol gauge bolts to on the probe set up.

I have that problem too. Not quite that bad. Analog reads a little higher than the TST gauge. It is from having them both hooked to the same probe. I have two probes about 2inches from each other in the manifold, one for each gauge. Now they work right.

the thermocouple works by producing a very small voltage. you cannot hook 2 meters to the same tc and expect either one of them to read right. I used to work at a power plant and have worked on many of them.
