i personally dont like running cosistantly above 1250 thats my opinon...i aaint got the cash for a new turbo:shock:

how hot is hot for EGT. I am taking a long trip this summer and I will be towing a 11K 5th wheel up so serious passes. hot hot can my 05 5.9ltr sustain? I am running a delete pipe, AEM coldair and a quadzilla 65 hp tow module. I know this is a question that has been asked and answered a bunch of times. thanks from the new guy. :confused013:

You will get several responses on this, but......I've heard nothing sustained over 1350. I pull a 9k fiver and i could hit1300-1350 in stock form on some grades. With the Smarty Jr, I have yet to see over 1200 on those same grades.

well be careful because aluminum melts at 1200. i got my 03 to 1400 for a short period of time and melted my piston to the top of my head. so 1200 is as high as i would want it.

My 06 would hit 1350 stock pulling hills empty. In that case I wouldn't think 1350 for a short period of time would hurt a thing.

wow u must have had a flaw cause i run 1900 by the end of the 1/4 and and on the highway i run a constant 1300 cause of no boost so wtf you must have had higher temps or your guage is off:lol4:

what causes the newer trucks to run higher egts? i just install my gauges today and i saw my egts hit 1400 at WOT for a second till i let out.

My egts stay aroung 600 crusing. And highest I've ever seen them at full throttle was 1100.
Is that pre-turbo? That sounds too low for WOT on an '06.
