Keep in mind you need to delete the DPF before you delete the EGR. You can not delete the EGR without deleting the DPF. I don't think it gains you any mpg or hp, but instead it will lower your EGTs and will keep your motor from eating too much soot.

I'd probably wait until theres a code free EGR delete, thats what I'm doing with mine. Looks like they might have one out within a month, maybe a little longer than that.

The EGR delete pics make it look pretty easy to do. Why not just delete the EGR then wait for the box to come out later? One more question I've got ... What about the EGR cooler? What will be done with that?

When you say delete the DPR do you mean actually removing the Diesel Particulate Filter off of the truck and if that is the case isn't it illegal and void your warranty? What does EGR stand for? I own a 2007 6.7 megacab (Laramie) and had to have the turbo replaced at 10,000 miles due to being bogged with soot. Dodge paid for it but blamed me for the way I drove it! Just trying to learn more about this truck, so far not very happy with the 6.7 Turbodiesel. Thanks

They blamed it on the way you drive.......I think I would have slugged the poop out of some dumby that told me that to my face...That kind of language and principle would piss me right off...

EGR is the system that feeds your engine its own exhaust(Its kinda like eating your own ). Yes its illegal to remove the DPF and then drive your truck on the roads. Removing the EGR without removing the DPF will only cause more problems, and will void the warranty which would cover those problems.

Yes The EGR delete and the DPF delete will most likely void your warranty, And yes it technically is Illegal to do but so is removing the Cats on the older diesels as well as any other emissions equipment on vehicles that has been removed over the years. LOL

Take a look at this. I just started this thread.

Removing the EGR after the DPF will reduce your smike as well as EGT's

I notice it shuts down harder. Smokes barely if any at all even with a heavy load. Before the egr i would get alot of smoke. Im not certain on mpg gains though. I coulda swore i lost alittle actually but i know that cant be true. Its just nice knowing that my egts will always be drastically reduced which is good for me. And that also im not throwing all that crap back in the engine. I could careless about code free as a code scanner or edge can clear them for when the real codes come up. EGR labor is about an hour or less. FULL TB is about 2 hours for labor. K2 has nice plates. Beefs up the motor. I cant wait for the cooler delete to come out and make the other side look nice now.

Hey if you need some help with anything, im a local pinellas county!!
