well to make a long story short, my truck was running hot and blowing tremendous amounts of white smoke out the exhaust, never owning a diesel i figured it was a head gasket or something? well i took it in to the dealership becuase its under warranty on 5/14/09...i went yesterday to check up on it after not hearing a word and they are waiting on parts still, they have some bolts, o2 sensors, and are still missing the cooler. which wont get her until 7/15 :banghead: do any of you know what i can do. maybe a delete could fix it or its to late now, i dunno? i have a camper that i pull when i go work out of state and it being in the shop is keeping me home and unemployed. and advice would be sooo appreciaited

I've had my egr blocked for over a year now but finally got around to taking off the cooler last night. only took 45min and the directions on here were right on. Shibbys kit was perfect. I would just get rid of it since in caused more problems that it worth.

I really pissed me off when I looked on my side yard and saw my old DPF, NOX filter, CAT, EGR, EGR cooler and all the misc emissions crap. We were forced to buy all that crap and all it does is cause problems.

I say even if they do get the parts in take it home and delete it then.

get the shibby kit for the egr valve and egr cooler deletes and be done with it. look on here for "egr cooler delete", as there are detailed instructions and pictures for what to do to remove it. it's really a pretty easy job, and there's plenty of support on here if you need it. here is a link to Kevin's site for the egr stuff. he's great to deal with and well respected on here.

i checked k2's page out and definately has alot of 6.7 parts on his page...but i have another question... can i just delete the egr and cooler without removing the dpf? or does it all have to to be done at one, with a tuner, dpf and egr delete?

it all has to go in order to keep the truck running. you may think its expensive but once you take all that crap off youll never have any issuses. buy an xrt or smarty, delete all the junk and run worry/code free. talk to walley at fte diesel, he will take care of you.

its not hard at all. i installed the cooler delete at night using a flashlight to see. if you want a trouble free system get the XRT. smarty is a good tuner but i had problems with mine thats why i went to H&S. no more problems. i e-mailed mads electronics about the smarty, they said they were having alot of problems with the s-67

this is the last e-mail mads sent me:
Hello,
we are investigating deeply that problem. It seams to be due to a little imperfection of the sensor (many sensors have the same problem).
We are working on a new software update that will solve completely the problem. We are now testing it before publishing.

Okay that sounds right. That doesn't seem like "they said they were having alot of problems with the s-67" .. A few people had some sensor problems. The majority of people had no problems what so ever. I was just wondering.:thumbsup:

i wasn't trying to say that everyone was having problems. i'm just saying that from the research i've done and my own personal experience the XRT is not having problems. when MADS gets their tuner right i'll get another one.:party018:

Hey everyone can have problems. It is not just one tuner. These 6.7's a beast in themselves. A lot going on in the ecm to deal with.

Should have said anyone can have problems.

you're right. i think that all the different flashes in the ecm's might be causing problems
