I'm curious. I want to be able to monitor the trucks vital functions, but I don't want gauges. I want to buy the Edge Juice w/ Attitude for a little power but more for monitoring and crisis intervention. I read that it can monitor fuel pressure, but I read the install guide and it says nothing about fuel pressure connections or transducers for fuel pressure monitoring or anything.

Here's the link I was looking at:

http://www.xtremediesel.com/\manuals\edgeproducts\EJD3000AWAM.pdf

Does it or does it not monirtor fuel pressure? If so, how if you're not connecting anything? Does the stock ECU read fuel pressure from a stock transducer or something?

I'm confused here....if you can't already tell.

i know the attitude can read a lot off of the ECU. i was wondering the same thing about the fuel pressure and rail pressure on the moniter. i know there are a lot of guys running this, so hoefully someone will chime in

O.k., I've been trying to find a gauge package but have been unsuccessful trying to find a 4 pillar gauge pod so I can have fuel pressure, boost, egt, and trans temp. I don't really want gauges though, but I was looking anyway. I wanted one device that does it all.

what year truck you puttin this on?

The edge with attitude come with a Pressure sending unit for the 98.5-02 trucks for sure!!

If you just want to monitor, look into the TS heads up display...its basically the same as the Attitude monitor...little cheaper if you dont want the power!!:thumbsup

The ability to read fuel pressure depends on the year of your truck. (FILL OUT YOUR SIG)
My Edge Juice does not read FP. I really wish it did. I guess they forgot to put that feature on the '03-'04 model Juice.

I believe all the readings are taken from the ECM through the wiring. Except for the EGT. Which you will have to drill and tap for a probe. No biggie though.

I really like my Juice w/Attitude. I'm not a big fan of a bunch of gauges scattered around the truck. I am getting ready to put a FP gauge on the top of the steering column though. So I can keep an eye on that. The rest of my monitoring I leave to the Attitude.

edge offers the attitude moniter by itself i believe, it might be a different name, but i think that's what it is.---------------------------- It's the insight moniter.

It reads FP on my 00. I love the Edge unit. One of the best mods I have done so far.

Wow, many folks way off here....

The Edge Juice on the 2nd gens uses a sending unit, supplied with the J/A system, that replaces the factory shrader valve test port on the VP44.

Same goes for the transmission temp guage.... a sending unit replaces a test port plug on the transmission.

In the Juice wiring harness there is a wire/plug that goes to each of the two sending units.

It's identical to installing a set of Autometer guages, just easier, and just as accurate.

Besides EGT, fuel pressure, and trans temp, all the other parameters like boost, throttle %, oil pressure, fuel temp, air temp, etc.... are extracted from the ECM that already knows these parameters from factory sending units.

...and these things should come in the box right? I'm only asking because this isn't the first vehicle I've modified and if you don't ask you'll get a box with less than you expected and be pissed when you waited for it excitedly for days. I'm sure some of you know that feeling. I just want to make sure I get everything that I need so when I start wiring and wrenching I can finish in a flash!

yes.....

The J/A combo will have everything you need to get everything set up that they advertise. You shouldn't need anything else, besides tools, to have the complete setup going in a couple of hours.

Oh and overlook the statment on the box that say's a 10 minute install... Not!

But is a very nice complete clean setup.. If you don't want to figure out a place to stick the monitor I would suggest the a-pillar from Edge also... I have it in my truck and do not ever see needing anything else..

Those sending units are just as accurate as probes?

:thud:

An electrical guage uses a sending unit, regardless of the brand or style.

I've done my Juice, and a pyro/fuel pressure guages from Autometer in another truck. The sending units that came with the Autometer guage and my Juice, for fuel pressure, look identical.

The onlything that I can think of that uses a probe is your EGT, which also appear to use the exact same parts between Edge and Autometer.
