My edge shut off on its own, the truck starting surging and going crazy so i unplugged it and everything went back to normal, i later plugged it back in and it worked fine for awhile, then it shut off again at the gas station, i left it plugged in and truck running while i ran into the store, as soon as i got into the store my truck started reving up and pouring black smoke out of the stacks covering the parking lot in black smoke on it's own, I ran out unplugged the chip and everything went back to normal. The Chip hasn't worked since. Anyone have a clue why?

did you buy it new or used?? is there any kind of warranty on the chip???

i bet somethin on the inside came unsoldered on a computer board or somethin....which could either be an easy fix...or it could be completely destroyed....

I bought it used from a friend, but i've had it on my truck for 2 years without any problems
except for it eating up 4 tranny's

it deadshorted itself, box is fried most likely. my edge juice w/ hot unlock did this twice on me this past summer, the first time edge just replaced the one chip inside it that was bad, it lasted a month before it did it again,the 2nd time the replaced it with a whole new kit, box and monitor and harness which i then sold cheap before i even put it on my truck. call edge and see what they think but im pretty sure you will be on your own on this one.
