Can anyone verify that the edge CTS3 is an easy monitor swap from the original edge? I have the original edge 1 monitor mounted on my dash to watch EGTs, trans temp, and TC lock but would like to see a few other parameters.

I am assuming it is a simple OBDII plugin and the cord that goes to the monitor is the same fitting for original and cts3. So, I should be able to just swap the monitor and go.

Has anyone done this or can anyone verify this? Tuning is from EFI Live and is unrelated to the monitor as far as I understand.

Thanks

Yes, remove the old and plug in the new. Get the pyrometer so you actually know what the EGT’s are. As far as EFI Live, I don’t know jack and even less than squat.

I also have the CTS and would love to upgrade to the CTS3.

But,
I don't know if you'll see any more parameters or not. Edge doesn't break down parameters per model year.

As for the CTS3, I've head a few bad things about it. Lie they rushed it into production before working all the bugs out so as good as an Xmas present it would be, I think I would wait a little longer or at least keep the CTS in case you have problems.

Also, if you have a Pyro now you can't use it on the CTS3 and have to buy a new one.

I have to swap the Pyro out too? The original one won't work with the cts3?

You'll have to call and confirm but it looks like they changed the connectors to a new design.

I had the Edge Juice w/attitude and the pyrometer. Had it for maybe 10 years. When that module crapped out on me, I went to the Evolution with CTS 3. Since I leave the truck on one tow tune all the time and it's much easier in CA to get smog check since it is CARB compliant.
Had to put in a new pyrometer with this system. Different connections/plugs. PITA. It is a nice monitor. I also bought the bracket to mount it to the A pillar, I like that a lot.
