edge comp?'s & edge jwa?s

Im running a edge comp box on my 01 qcab 4x4 auto tranny. Bought truck about a month ago from a dealer so i dont know about it. Its currently turned all the way up. Looking to get a few more mpgs tho. Truck has a 6" lift with 315/75/16 toyo mts. I just got the build sheet for the truck from dodge and i have the 3:55 rear axle ratio. I only get around 15mpgs and i have been keeping a lighter foot! Any ideas on what i should do to improve that number???

Also found an edge jwa on my local craigslist for a 500 obo. Is it a good price for a used module? How much better is it then the comp box? Can anyone tell me what all it scans? all the websites i have looked at to research it says it does the job of 19 different gauges in one, but never says what they all are. I thought about asking edge to send me details but know alot of guys on here run them so figured someone could help me out with it.....

And what is the Deal with the Hot Unlock with the comp box's what does this mean? sorry new to all this so asking ?'s to learn...

Ejwa is basically the comp with monitors/backdowns/alerts/data logging and on the fly power selection.

Your tires and lift are costing you mpgs. My toyo mts get ~3mpg less than my toyo ats. N the higher the lift, the heavier the wind drag. I also run the 315/75/16 toyos and I run just on a 3" leveling kit. I drive bad dirt roads with big troughs, go minor rock crawling, and I have a much better center of gravity. I still never bottom out either.

Those are from memory cause I'm on the nice warm couch n not in the icy snow covered truck. Blanking on the other 4

Hot unlock fuels way harder.. And fuels to 3200rpm instead of only 2800

Ejwa also comes with a turbo timer which I love. Both for protecting the turbo and comedic effect. You watch the tire shop drive her in n it
Doesn't turn off.. They sit there looking all around for a min then it randomly turns off.. Haha or the people in the parking lot.

keep the comp box. lose the lift and heavy wheels and tires. or re-gear to help compensate for the tires. the lift still isn't gonna help you.

O ya didn't see you had 3.55s. Those are the perfect size tires for 4.10s. Gonna be real luggy with 3.55s

Thanks! lol I live in south Mississippi and it got to a high of 82 here today so no snow haha. Well see i have a dilemma with the programmers and settings to. Since i just bought the truck and I bought it from a dealership who bought it from a wholesale dealership out of texas, I dont know and they could not tell me ANYTHING! about the truck, like what had been done to it or anything else. The truck had the comp box, 5" loud straight pipe exhaust, and k&n intake (which i dont like, but o well). I dont know what else has been changed, modified, or is still stock other then the fact that i know it still has stock vp44 and pump which i plan to upgrade to a fass 100 here soon. I dont drive the truck very much because I commute to work with my boss most of the time, but i need this truck to be as reliable and fuel efficient as my old toyota truck was lol.
You can probably find a bhaf style filter at napa that will fit your k n n pipe. If its 4.00 I think napa part # 6637 will work, dependent on how much space you have in there.

Thanks, I would lose the lift and the big tires but it is how i bought it. I do love the look of it the way it sits just threw some bushwackers on it this past weekend made a big difference in appearance. I would prefer some 33x13.50/16 and stock ride height maybe just a level kit. I know lifts on 1500 model trucks but this being the heavy duty im not sure, can i just take the blocks out from the rear and the spacer out from the front and be fine? I bought this truck based straight off the dealerships pictures drove around 1000 mile round trip to get it, looked at it, fell in love, bought it, stayed in a hotel, drove back home the next morning lol.
if you are attached to the lift and tires then I would say live with the mpgs. You are spinning a ton of weight and pushing a sail. not to mention with 3.55's and tires you are kind of lugging the motor at speeds that would normally get you good mpg.

If they did things right there will be front end stuff that has to be changed too. You probably at least have a specific to the lift track bar. Track bars sizes I've seen go stock, 1-3" lift, 4-6" lift, 7"+ adjustable track bars.

But ya if u like it, keep it. You may be able to find someone to do a axle swap n find some 4.10s so your not lugging so much.

there is an optimal rpm range for mpgs. Somewhere 1650-1950ish for 55-70mph. Lugging much lower does not get you better mpgs. With 355s and 35s your lugging around or under 1400 to go 55 in od.

lugging sounds about right. I do love the look but when i do drive I drive alot so i need the added mpgs. Im sure i would like a 33 on a stock ride height almost just as much. I do hunt but thats about the only off roading the truck sees so i dont need the big tires and lift. Really I got the truck for a good deal thats why i bought it. 01 with 120k miles for my 04 tundra with more miles and $3k cash. Only thing i miss about my tundra is the much bigger back seat lol.
I know a lot of people are against them and they suck on top end power but I stacked a smarty with my comp box and got about a extra 2 or 3mpg out of mine. I leave it on 8 and I used to just leave the comp box off but I run both all the way up now and it still gets 16-17mpg around town if I keep my foot out of it and probably 19-20ish on the highway with 37's
