I just scored an edge drag comp for a smoking deal locally. It's for an 02, so I don't need the adapters, sweet!

Few questions

- tapping the pump. I just replaced my pump and I want to "try" and keep a warranty on it. But at the same time I want a solid connection for the best performance. Wire taps are out, I hate them. I'm down to the Stealth plate or cutting/soldering the connection. Is the steath plate a good connection for this setup? Is it work the $50?

- Boost elbow - The reason I got a smoking deal is the guy didn't have the boost elbow, can I put any boost elbow on there, or should I get the one from edge?

- Can I run this for a couple of weeks without EGT/Trans/Boost gauges? Or should I just hold off on installing it until I get my gauges in. I already have fuel pressure installed, a rebuild vp44 and an airdog.

Thanks guys!

boost elbow is no big deal, they are like $8 on ebay shipped.

also as long as you have a FP gauge i would run it, just dont beat on it really bad or hook up a smoke switch and rip around till you get a Pyro.

For the pump wire i would ju solder it in and save the 50 bucks.

good luck and watch your tranny fall out (if it's an auto, start saving for the rebuild.)

I soldered my wire tap and have never had a problem. If you aren’t comfortable doing that I’ve heard nothing but good things about the stealth plates.

I never got my EGT too high, with the truck unloaded, when I only had the comp. But im sure you could get it hot pretty quick if you abuse it enough so be careful. And with an auto I would be extra careful until you are ready to rebuild it.

I didn’t install my boost elbow at first. I probably went a month without it and didn’t really notice any difference with it other than more boost on the gauge.

just leave your pump untaped or like you said, run a stealth plate.

im sure you can get a boost elbow from edge. if not, there are other copanys that make them. (or you could just plug it)

you should be fine, i ran my comp for 6 months w/o gauges. (but i was kinda esay on it)

good call on that airdog and fuel pressure

I've already planned on a transmission upgrade, I was hoping to do that first, but the VP and lift pump going out changed that plan for me. hahaha And the edge was too good of a deal to pass up. Hopefully this winter/spring I can get the transmission worked out. :D
