Hey Guys,

I just had my truck dynoed and I was a little unimpressed with the numbers until me and the dyno guy realized that my common rail pressure was at its peak around 19,500. I did my first run with Smarty turned all the way up and got a 315hp and 634 trq, I then turned my MP-8 all the way up and my dyno numbers went up by a mere 7 hp 13 trq. We were confused as I have heard of this combination netting over 65 hp extra. I then turned mp-8 off for last dyno run and just turned CR pressure up on my smarty with smart still cranked and got only 335 hp and 706 for tourque. We went back on all the runs and found that my first run with just smarty had a peak psi of 18300 for the CR while run 2 with the MP-8 had just over 19,000 and finally my run with smarty controlling the cr pressure was around 19,800. Me and the dyno guy did some research and found that stock thes trucks should be able to hit 23,000 for CR pressure at WOT. I just had 6 injectors done under 5000k ago by dodge and have been getting a P0148 code for fuel delivery error but every time I take it to dodge they say there is nothing wrong. What do you guys think is going on?

Information on the truck.

2007 3500 M/C 5.9l MP-8 Smarty POD Banks intake, Banks Exaust, AFE Intake manifold, Silencer ring removed.

Please help... Do you guys think it is Injection pump or injectors again or what??

What is your Fuel pressure from tank to filter?
If your not getting the lift pump pressure Your not going to make your rail pressure. I have a quadzilla rail pressure and fuel pressure gauge. I can push a button and see what FP i have...
Your lift pump should be mounted in fuel tank since its a 07 I'm not a big fan of those.
Your prob. going to find your fuel pressure is going to be lower then required for a CP3.

your fuel pressure should be at more then 10 psi.. at idle engine operating temp

Do you have nozzles or are those stock injectors with stock nozzles??

They are stock injectors, I am not sure about my fuel pressure from tank to cp3. I am looking on industrial Injection right now at a FASS 150 w/ filters and a 85% more flow cp3 pump combo to put in. My truck is going into the shop when I get out of the bush to get a NADP 750 HP tranny so I will get the CP3 and the fass. At that point I will probably look into getting Nozzles and head studs. F*ck this truck is turning into a money pot. I hate to say it but I am starting to miss my 7.3

Sounds like you were demanding too much for the system. What were your boost/EGT numbers?

I bet you would have dyno'd much more on SW5. To effectivley run SW9 and MP8 your going to need a LP and a modifed CP3.

your fuel pressure should be at more then 10 psi.. at idle engine operating temp
If he has a stock LP, which it sounds like he does, he will only have about 8-9 psi at idle as the stock pump bypasses back to the tank at ~8psi.

The in-tank is a good unit, but is really only good for ~100-125 hp over stock before the pressure gets too low.

not enough fuel to the noozles. with that low EGT. should be able to hit 1500d F easy with the Smarty maxed out

diesel starvation. that rig is on a no dino grease diet

how many miles on the rig?
why were the injectors replaced? split bodies, excessive bypass fuel or leaking pintles?

not enough fuel out the injectors. look for a fuel restriction. LP not putting out, damaged or plugged line, plugged filter, CP3 weak.

poor truck is on a no diesel non fat diet

should be able to hit 1400d F easy with the stock injectors and the Smarty on max., although i would recommend keeping it under 1200d F. Dual Ts are far cheaper than a stuck slug and rod out the side.

Right Sorry I had the wrong fuel pressure stock lift pump for your year is 8 psi min.
I'm just not a big fan of in tank fuel pumps because they are a pita to change. Last summer I have changed about 9 in tank fuel pumps in different models of vehicles. I don't want to see one of those pumps again.

They are a PITA to change, but they last a lot longer than any of the previous Dodge pumps.

you need a fuel pump(500) and then add on an arson 3 kit(395)

this will put you @ 450 at the wheel (takes alot of money to get that with a 7.3)

when your ready - send your nozzles to extrude hone for 45% enlarged 90 hp (300), then add a turbo

you will forget all about your 7.3.......... i did lol

Well, I went and spent some money today... I picked up a NADP Race tranny good to 800hp also I Bought a FASS 150 and a Modified CP3 Pump 85%more flow. I think while the truck is in the shop I will put head studs in it for the inevitable turbo upgrade in the future. Lets hope this solves my slipping tranny problem and my common rail pressure problem all at once. Should feel like a new truck. Not a bad way to spend 11,000$ hahah. Anyone have any feedback on Supreme Diesel in Grand Prarie AB Canada? they will be completing the work.

something was wrong... fuel delivery error means the ECM is commanding more rail pressure than it's getting

my 06 makes 25,000psi with Smarty TNT level 9 and stock rail pressure setting 100k miles, all stock fuel system, been running the same tune for almost 40k miles
