If it gets split as Cummins Powerstroke Duramax and other it still needs to have engine size splits below each. 12V 24V 6.7L things like that.
It is just easier for everyone to know by looking what vehicle is being talked about.
In my ignorance, I have no idea what the different powerstroke engines are or the duramax for that matter. So would not be able to differentiate.
By body style and make I know the year so can follow along.
