Dynatrac or Spyntec

Has anybody used either of these for free sin front axle. I am fixing to put front axle u-joints in and was thinking of upgrading to a free spin front axle kit while at it. I have a 2011 with 150k on miles and was wondering if is even worth installing one of these on my truck

Spyntec is going to raise prices after the new year. Occasionally on Xtreme Diesel performance I see the Dynatrac Warn setup selling for $1790. It'll popup when you go to the cart. I've read nothing but good things about either.
Yea the Spyntec is a little cheaper right now but if Dynatrac is a better quality I don't mind paying a little more now.

I have Spyntec's and it seemed like a well put together kit. It went together with no problems and the Mile markers work fine, I have had Warns on my '91 W350 CTD and they turned a little easier than the mile markers, but it is not a big deal. 2-lo is great and it drives nicer. You don't feel the road as much through the wheel, like hitting bumps and things. It doesn't jerk the wheel as much IMO. The spyntec came with the races installed in the hubs and Timken bearings. Some people don't like it that you have cut down the bolts. I really didn't care, it wasn't an issue when I was installing the kit.
I just had a Spyntec kit installed on my dually. My installer had no problem installing it and it took just a hair over 2 hours.....

I picked Spyntec over the Dynatrac kit because everything was included (Dynatrac you need to buy the dually hub adaptors according to their instructions). I haven't had any trouble with the mile marker hubs either

I haven't had them in that long so I can't comment on the mileage just yet, but I can comment on how the steering feels lighter with the hubs "unlocked"
Thanks for the info I will be ordering one or the other next week. Anybody running big tires with this kit. My 11 ain't but on 33" tires but my 12 is on 37" tires

I've read somewhere (probably here) that the Spyntec system makes the front wheels sit farther out than stock where the Dyntrac system does not. Is there any truth to either claim?
That is a good question.

Mine appear to stick out just as much as they did before. Looking at it, it don't look any different. If you are going to buy a kit this week, wait till Friday. I plan on buying a few diesel items online and save some money or maybe this was your plan all along.
The Spyntec kit I installed already had the studs installed in the hub I didn't have to cut them and the race too. Very well put together. My truck drives so much better.

Black Friday Spyntec deal coming?
I was actually going to wait till Monday but you have a valid point. Thanks

Not sure on Spyntec or any other free spin hub kits. I am buying an exhaust brake among other things. The dealers I have talked to wouldn't tell me what the % off is(they may not find out until the day of), but told me what it has been in the past. Usually 5-10%. The bolts I had to cut were the ones that fasten the spindle to the knuckle.
I have the Dynatrac. Get their ball joints while you are at it. Zero issues. Was all over nasty fields in MN a few weeks ago, zero issues. They have made it from VA to MT and back, no issues. I picked mine up from, both items, from 8 Lug Truck Gear. He treated me well. They were more expensive than spyntec but I thought they looked better.

FYI, I picked up a bit over 1/2 MPG after installing the kit.
1/2 mpg for $1500-$1800. YIKES! not sure its worth it.
In all the threads about this, it boils down to personal preference. If you looking at how long it will take you to recoup your costs. Look else where. Fuel mileage wasn't why I converted. The pros have already been listed many times and the only con I see is cost. I don't consider having to get out and lock hubs a negative thing, america is getting too lazy. If I could do it over again, I wouldn't change a thing.
I got a 1.3 to .5 increase, but not the reason I wanted them.
I purchased the dynatrac with the dynatrac hubs, very easy to install on the truck, parts were well made, customer service was decent to deal with, hubs lock in quicker supposedly with the dynatracs over the warns you can get also, haven't really paid attention to gas mileage yet cause living in Michigan I have had the hubs locked in and lock 4wd in and out with the shifter in the cab
Love my Dynatrac's ")

That sums it up.
My F-250 unlocked yielded much looser steering and say goodbye to premature ujoint failure
