I disagree with the above statements!

They do wear great. Better than most, Ride is the same as stockers in my opinion. They are heavy as heck tho.

Mine with rim is over 90# apeice

Yeah.

They're heavy because they're strong, flat resistant and have huge load capacities. The Toyo Mt's and Nitto Trail Grappler 35-12.50-17's are around 90# ea w/o the rim. That's only one size up from the 285-75-17's. Those are heavy tires.

they wear like iron ride like crap and are expensive. go with the terra grapplers...
so you've tried them?

because mine ride great and were way cheaper the Toyos I had on my 04...

Terra Grapplers?! good luck getting 30k miles out of them

my Dura Grapplers are wearing AWESOME

I got the 285/75's, and they are heavy, but that's probably because they're big, E rated, and have a lot of tread rubber

Terra Grapplers?! good luck getting 30k miles out of them
I know this is about dura grapplers...but I must say I have terra grapplers now with well over 30K, actually ~38-39K on them. They still have many miles left in them. I would say at least 10k more, maybe more.

They have been a really great tire! My driving style is conservative 95% of the time and a lot of highway.

That being said next time I purchase tires I will probably get dura grapplers (based on how well the terra's have done) since I really don't need the aggressive tread.

No bashing of the Terra Grapplers. I have had three sets first set last 35,000 miles and I sold the truck, second set I had almost 25,000 miles and then I sold the truck then I had 54,000 miles on my 305 55 20's with miles to spare. There are alot of guys running the dura grapplers around here with great luck. The tread is pretty deep too so i'm sure they do pretty well in the rain and decent in the snow.

i have had the dura grapplers. 285/70/17

i have also had terra grapplers in 295/70/17

the dura's are a heavy tire i will agree they do wear really well i put 10k on mine and they still looked brand new!

i put like 60k on my terra's and i drive like a mad man. lots of heavy accelerating and lots and lots of highway driving on tetible roads.

Which one's ride better and your next set which one's would you buy again? I thinking the dura's but in 285 75 17 is why I am asking.

well i can tell you that i shgould be a tire critic!!!
ive put both sets of tires through every condition
mud
sand
snow
rain
ice
potholes
extreme heat
extreme cold
they perform just about equally on my 2wd

if i towed alot i would get the dura's but i rarely tow anything, so i would buy terra grapplers but i recently decided that i dont like the look of all terrains on 2wd's

i've got the dura grappler (285/70/17) on my truck and love them so far. i have about 70 psi in them and they ride nice for that amount of air. i've put just over 9k on them and they look like new. its too soon to tell for sure about the miles i'll get out of them. i am a little unsure because they are nice and sticky so they worked great for me in the rain. which i have a problem w/ wet traction. seeing how i have to use 4 wheel drive to lay into it on the highway when the road is wet.

but that all said, the next set of tires i plan to get will be on 19.5s w/ a g-load rated tire.

I've been running dura grapplers (285.75.16) for about 25k miles now and have no complaints. Seem to be wearing great and even, buddy of mine has them on his dmax and is pushing 60k and still have some to go !
