So here is my problem. My parking brake doesnt hold at all. my read brakes dont work at all.

I have adjusted the star-wheel in side the drums... and waaaa-laaa it fixed the parking brake and rear brakes. Well i drive the truck more than 2 miles and baammm there back out again. any ideas?

I have new shoes and new hardware spring. i just dont understand what else it could be.

P.s. my parking brake cable is tightened all the way down. (good or bad?)

well thats what i did to both sides (pull the drum) but everything is fine in side.

i did notice (inside the drum) that the star wheel touches the adjustment lever. however, when the brakes are applied it nocks the adjustment lever off the starwheel. any ideas?

Star wheel and arms shoud both have an L and R on them. So you know what side they go on.

ok so in this picture the the spring in the white is down a notch in the lower hole. (does it matter?)

the red- that lever hops off the starwheel when the brakes are applied or the ebrake it applied.

blue- the spring that incases the ebrake cable always hits the fron brake pad... is that normal?

A mistake many make when rebuilding is not fully releasing the parking brake cable. Make the basic adjust with the bottom adjuster and make sure the adjusting lever will adjust the shoes out when compress link.
After doing this, the park brake cable should not require hardly any adjusting. You might even forgo the parking cable adjust until you drive a bit and readjust the adjuster. This should get you well in the ball park. All bets are off if you don't assemble correctlly. By the way, the springs are good from pictures. You can tell when they bad.

Good write sizer. Ill try to take some pictures tommrow. But some how my adjustment lever is not staying in contact of my star wheel. It won't adjust the star wheel automatically. And if I manually adjust it... It's good until I drive and it loosens back up.
