you have to really tighten down the trac bar bolt to prevent popping...I mean TIGHT.

Make sure the bracket is secure as well. When I was running my 5'' kit the drop bracket loosened up a little and over time it egged out the bolt holes. :doh:

thats what is poping is the drop bracket. it moves when steering. may have to get sum better bolts and sleeve and possibly weld?

There is another thing to look out for though. Sometime in 07 the frame size bolt that holds the track bar in changed and I had that very same problem and I had to drill out my drop bracket to a lager size and wrench phucker down. I am talking tube over breaker put your back into it! Done deal!!

Most people I have talked to recommend welding the bracket in place to prevent future issues.

I don't suggest welding it cause you may want to go back to stock some day for what ever reason. I might tack weld thd cross member side.

I welded mine. There is no going back to stock for me. I cut the control arm mounts off the frame for long arms ha ha

Yeah but with a second gen it is almost mando. The track bar is a terrible design on second gens. I am going to radius arms so the lower control arms will be good and gone but my bro will rebuild them when the time comes.

well i think part problem was the kit came with a 1 1/8" sleeve when directions say 1 3/8" so i made me one out of sum pipe a hair longer than 1 3/8" for SnuG fit and went breaker bar down on that piece! so far so good.. still a slight noise when truck is parked and turn bak n forth. may be normal?

I had the pop noise too. The problem was the Pro Comp kit came with both the drop bracket and extended tack bar. You can only use one or the other not both. But the instructions showed both.

The drop bracket is used with the factory track bar.
The extended track bar installs as is and doesn't req the drop bracket since it is longer.

Did the kit come with a drop pitman arm too?

My 5'' procomp kit came with an adjustable trac bar, trac bar drop bracket and drop pitman arm.

If it did you need to run all 3...the trac bar and the trac bar drop with the drop pitman arm or you'll get bad bump steer.

Your drag link and trac bar need to stay parallel. If you only use the trac bar and the drop pitman arm (not the trac bar drop bracket) they wont be parallel.

If any of the bolts are lose or the bushing is worn it will cause a pop. You have to really tighten everything down TIGHT. Mine was a little lose and not only did it pop but it also egged out the bolt holes.

Acutally the adjustable trac bar is longer than the OEM bar. And the Death Wobble was reduced and the pop went away. The drop bracket was if I were to stay with the factory trac bar. For some reason my kit came with more parts than needed, like it even had the driveshaft drop carrier. Well my SB doesn't have it so I had to buy the tranny drop plate.

And the kit did come with a drop pitman arm. But I should take another look at the lower trac bar bolt had a buddy install that bolt while I was working the upper end.

Whats the toque value on that bottom trac bar bolt? 120 ft lbs?

I think you may be missing ban89's point. The longer track bar keeps the axle centered under the truck, but the drop track bar bracket keeps the track bar and the draglink parallel. That is very important for proper steering without bump steer and death wobble.

with a 6" lift, you need the drop block AND the longer trackbar....they didn't give you extra parts

Here's a lift that just uses the bracket and OEM track bar.

If I use the new track bar and drop bracket it pushes the axle out. To correct that problem just crank down on the adjustable end. Just better to use the OEM bar and drop bracket.

I would be willing to bet that the bracket they supply moves the bar down and over whereas the one you have just moves it down.
